Just wondering if anyone has went faster than 14.3 at 97/98mph with stock gears, tranny, intake manifold and stock open differential? I know there has to be some fast low 14 second bolt on Mark VIII's out there. Let me know what mods you have and what your times are.

None that I know of. Our customer Ken Kropac is the fastest I have seen at 14.33 I think with just our cat back.

Geno you have been around the MK8 scene for awhile so you must know... that's pretty impressive I knew my car was one of the fastest around CA but didn't expect it to be up there across the nation. My best timeslip was: 2.26/14.38/97.6 best mph I have got was 98.6. If I can just get the 60 foot below 2.2 I would be very happy, it's very hard to launch this thing with the open diff. I'm sure some drag radials would help... :Beer

I was running 14.4 with just the cat back 2.5 inch exhaust with the Assassin mufflers that Geno offers yet again in the AssassinVIIIor. On a car that had 120K on the odometer, well oiled plugs/wires, and I was running damn near bald factory size General XP2000's at Atco a few years ago....Geno, you remember, you drove the car also.

My current car runs 15.2 with no mods done to it except a Baumann shift kit, and 9MM wires w/ Lightning plugs. I hope to be down in the 14's with the exhaust.....LOW 14's.

your looking at 14.8s with exhaust unless you got a factory freak, and there are some too.

Its not the fact that its a factory freak or not, its the condistions and altitude. Here in NJ were OPTIMAL on conditions.

I have put so many stockers in the mid 14's you wouldn't believe. KAB went into the 14's, Ken went 14's, I went 14's with ALL my Marks (1993-1995)

The driving is key too, the cars running condition is also key. Good fuel pump and filter and good fresh tune up is a must. Run in drive, od and tc off and practice the flashing method of the converter. Its the ONLY way to get those times.

I'm scheduling a run at Raceway Park soon... Geno knows I've got a good one in terms of tranny/engine... Thing is super responsive... I'm not too good at the tree, but I'm practicing with a video game. I've got to believe just with timing myself on a local road, it will be under 14.5..... Mods are LMS Cat Back, Powermaxx Chip, LMS MAF, New Autolite 764 plugs, new filters all around...

Nice... Atco is one of the fastest if not the fastest track in the country. Exhaust seems to be a big restriction on these cars, I'm still running my stock piping because of CA smog laws.

14.6 @ 98 N/A , 13.3 @108 on the bottle
the only thing the removal of the third cat did for me was 1 mph , it lost some low end and picked up some top end
and the k&n air filter did nothing at all
everything else was completely original , 3.08 open rear , and now blown trans

Do you have a Panel (drop in) K&N or a conical? I have a UPR Bigmouth conical and I don't know if it does much but you can hear the engine sucking in a lot more air.

i removed the box that the mass air is in and replaced it with a conical filter , no form of ram air was fabbed up yet , it is alot louder

What is the flashing method, could you elaborate?

Thanks

I remember geno saying manualy shift it with out a chip and leave it in D with a chip because you cant out shift the chip
