Whats the fattest, thickest tire one can fit under the rears?

Cut the lip nd you can get 295/50/15's or 285/35/18's..etc. You saw my Capri, they have the 295/50/15's on them.

TOTALLY BADAS~S! 15's are the Muscle Car staple size!! I photoshopped the Capri wheels & tires on the Mark. You have no idea how bad I want to do the hub swap just to put skinnies and meats on the Mark.

Thats alot of tire over rim, very retro. Bet thats a little widder than the "recommended rim to tire" combo. I got 245/50/14x7s on my CobraII almost as bad, still in the recommended spec thou.

I think a 245/50 on a stock 16 should be fine and probably has been done alot.

Instead of changing the hubs why not just get adapters made ??
I had a set made with the hub centric machined into them. The guys where great. I am running a 55+ offset wheel and it fits perfectly with a 5x4.5 wheel. I was afraid to run the chinese adapters. I heard to many sotries about breakage.

Sticks out too far. I can get custom made skinnies and meats from Bogart, one of my favorite rim companies. I may do this mod this Winter.

that look's baaaaad ass Geno! I also like the look of a tire with some sidewall to it that's why I put 225/50/17's on my Mark and had 245/50/16's on my Mustang in the back and 225/50/16's on the front. that gave it a "rubber rake". I like 50 series tires.

Hell YES!

If those are 245 50's on 16's I like the look... I like the tire wall extending over the rim.

Personally I can't stand low profile tires.. I love seeing cars with big meaty tires..

Would they look good all around or should I look into putting a set of 235 60 16 on the front. I know that would kill tire rotation but.. might look bad...

I'm running 255/50/16 BFG drag radials on my Bird ,so as my brother on his Mark.

Today my store just got these killer crager knock offs. I got someone to take a pic of em and im gonna photoshop em on the mark to see what they look like. If they look good ill prolly look for a set that can hold some meet.

now im no body man by far nor do i pretend to be, so im gonna ask a stupid question (no comments please)...what are you refering to when you say lip? the lip on the body pannel itself?

Without cutting what would be the Fatest size tires on a standard 16" rim???

245/50/16?

I have 255/50 Falkens on my stock 16x7 snowflakes. They're a little under .6 inches shorter than the stock 225/60 and will throw the speedo off by a little bit. 245/50s would be shorter still (albiet by a tiny amount.) Unless you go with a real tall tire 255s are probably the widest that will work with 16x7s.

somone needs to teach me how to use photoshop properly....:shifty:

its not hard at all, it just takes some determination. I can do some things with my version of photoshop (GIMP photo editor, the lenux version of photoshop) but im no where near what geno can do. he can turn a popsicle into jesus prolly.

On the stock rims I think 245 or 255 are the biggest you can put on. I am currently running 245/50/ZR16 inch Yokohama Avid V4s all the way around, and I like the look.......well, I did when I was driving it.......will hope to again soon.

i would just be nervous running big tires when the airbags fail.. seems like it could do body damage. i already have a dented fender due to bad bags and a careless midas mechanic.
i bought the car with bad front struts. $900 mint body.. and a free inspection... i guess when he drove it up on the rack with the bags deflated he crunched the fender with the tire. he wouldnt admit it, but the way he drove those cars.. i know the real story:shifty:

but $900 you cant go wrong and i would have bought it either way.
