Feeler Thread- Midwest NA king car up for grabs?

This might happen if something else happens within the month. Who would be interested? $2000?? 153k miles and less than perfect but plenty of giggity.
 
Already have a mark but assuming the less than perfect is nothing big sounds like a good deal to me!
 
The bad:

Driveline vibrations (slop at tailshaft?)
Neon doesn't work
2 door switches have the piece that came off. (switch still functions)
It is going through 1 quart of oil per 1300 miles
I have all new bushings but not installed yet. There is some clunking.
Driver's side seat trim is broken
There is a CEL with an IAC code.
The fuel door button is broken but I have a spare.
Minnesota car. Has some rust issues starting and a small are of spider-webbing on the front bumper from a deer hoof.

If I think of anything else, I'll post it up. The car is NOT perfect.

The good:

Someone could easily part it out and get their money back. I don't want to take the time to do it if I pursue this other car.

Tell me when and i'll get some money together. This would be the perfect car to build up my black 98. Combined, they could become the sexiest and fastest N/A car in the Midwest-ish. lol
 
I'd buy it and put all the good stuff in mine.. now to get 2g's
 
I'll be honest. It would be hard to part with this car, but so goes life. I've started off at low-mid 14s and have essentially struggled bit by bit to get the car down to what now feels like almost another full second. It has been a blast and I want to run it at the track very soon within the month here to see what it has left. I intend to make a move within a month on this other car in which case the easiset thing for me to do would be to dump this car to someone who would like it, and take the cash from the sale to put headers and a stall in this other car.

Basically I would like to move on but I will still be staying with another one of these awesome cars. Awhile back on another forum I started a thread about getting into the 11s. Watching the videos of SSHS11 in the cockpit of Mike Schultz car and then seeing Don Pfau running 11s, short-shifting no less, is really what made me start brainstorming. What's nice about this car is that the foundation is all there and the supporting mods (mostly) other than the fact it's a stock block yet. This would be a cheaper alternative than having to start from scratch and dollar-for-dollar performance-wise this car seems to be reasonably priced for what I am getting which is around 400rwhp. ;)
 
Aaaaaaaand, I'm having second thoughts about selling the 98. I still feel attached. :rolleyes: This decision sucks.

Here's my thoughts:

I might be wanting to keep it as a second car for a daily driver/winter vehicle. If this happens, I would be selling my truck. The reason I bought the truck is because it was cheap, reliable, and I can haul my ice fishing equipment in it. I am not as avid at ice fishing or fishing in general anymore although it is still a hobby I enjoy. I will still find ways to get out ice fishing but I may make do without the truck. That's my thoughts right now....
 
You remind me of ME! lol... I had a hard time parting ways w/my '93 but its done & I don't regret it. I say uninstall those bolted performance goodies, convert back to stock, sell as is & bolt on goodies to the new monster. You'll remember this comment once that happens. ;)

Ha! I know right! :p

I am getting closer to sealing the deal on this other car. (crossing fingers!) But honestly, I think it is going to be easier to just buy a set of headers and a stall for this other car in the future than to go through all of the hassle dismantling the 98, not to mention I don't have the space to do so. I would rather just leave the 98 alone and drive it in the winter and on the less nice days of the year. Honestly, regardless of the numerous bolt-ons, all the 98 needs is some sand in the trunk and a good set of snow tires and it should do just fine. Slow and steady wins the race and I am not one of those irresponsible people who can't make it to work on time. Rush hour is never a rush for me even in the winter.

With headers and a stall, this blown 97 I am looking at should be at 400+rwhp and good for low 12s. I have ideas circling in my head about going further. But first things first! I need to get the car. ;)

If I had the cash I'd buy that other car & finance it for you so you don't have to worry about someone else taking it! DONE! YOURS! Payments start October 2012. Of course I'd have to take it to the track once then literally carbon copy your car onto my black '97. I'm such a damn dreamer! I just wish everyone was freakin happy! lol:D
 
Back when you first offered yours for 2,000.00 I would have bought it right then If I had a job. I've got the cash but I holding on to what I have until more starts coming in. If I don't find a job before to long I might have to sell some of my toys.
 
i prolly wouldn't sell my car. i get to attached.
but if i did, i would sell the silver car, not the truck.
i wouldn't want to maintain 2 marks, or drive a mark a lot in the winter.
plus, trucks are just useful.

I'm the same. I have the 95 that stays in the garage for days at a time and then the 88 GMC that I drive around town, if needed. I would like to have two Marks but one is enough. Almost like having another kid to take care of. It's expensive.
