Just wanted to let you know that I gain sooo much useful information from this site. Thank you LVC. My 02 LS has 57K and well taken care of I started to noticed the hard idling and misfires upson acceleration. Doing some reasearch I came to realize that it was time for a coil and spark plug change. I ordered all the Alantis coils online and popped those bad boys in along with new Motorcrsft spark plugs. This is NOT a hard job if you have the correct tools. I think the Plugs and Coils took about 3 hours. 5/8 Coils were drowned in oil so I knew it was time to do the Valve Cover Gasket for my 02 LS. I picked up the Felpro l and r side and accomlished this last night. Don't went anyone tell you it's a easy job. I had some help with my cousin who is very mechanically smart and has all the power tools (thank god) I don't see how this can be done with out those. It took about 6-7 hours but in the process of pulling the Valve cover we lost a screw. Heading to the Lincoln store today and try to pick one up. Passenger side is really easy but the driver's side was a bi**h. Pics are below.

Glad to see another LS owner jumping into the deep end!

Did the Fel Pro kit include the rings around the plug holes? IIRC, the Gen 1 gaskets are actually connected - two spark plug holes and the bolt hole in the middle for each one. Those are the most important.

Yes it did, I believe I ordered the parts from Rock Auto.com and received the kit in about 5-6 days. The next thing on the list now is the clockspring. I have the 32 airbag light code but have not got around to it yet. The replacement for the valve kit is very time consuming and have to be very careful. I replaced the coils/spark plugs few weeks back and the oil wells were pretty bad. When we pulled the new coils it was not that bad because they were new but I know it was time to replace the valve covers.
