After replacing the fuel pumps, pressure sensor, filter, TPS, EGR, and PCM she is rumbling down the road again, and starts no matter what the temp. In the course it was also found that the many tune ups I had done, were half assed where evidently some of the plugs are hard to reach and thus were never changed. According to the shop that fixed everything properly, the culprit that started the whole thing was leaking valve cover gaskets which pooled on top of the motor and caused the cops to eventually crossfire. The short of it was the parts stated, labor and amount of time involved, 4 days and 2000 bucks to get it back to running. Thanks to all who attempted to help.

The coils crossfired by sending electricity through a nonconducting liquid...?

Yes used, dirty motor oil can be conductive when subjected to ignition secondary voltages which are well over 20K volts.

Yes, that could ground them out causing misfires, though it's more likely that the oil degraded the coils' insulation. There's no possible way there was any "cross" firing.
