Hi I'm 17 years old and just got my Drivers License last year. I been saving up money for my first car and 3 weeks ago i discovered a 1994 mark viii in the paper,so me and my dad go and take a look at it. My dad pointed out that they where great cars, he had a 1992 mark vii and has a 1995 lincoln continental, so anyways we bought the car for 700$ it runs great and is super fast, the car only has 74,456 miles on it. A great Deal. I love this site, every one seems to know what there talking about and every one seems vary nice. I plan on adding some performance to my already awsome car and would appreciate any tips Thanks. :)

:W That sounds like a super super deal. What kind of shape is it in for 700 bucks?Im not knocking you but with that Mileage that car is worth around 3k at least.Welcome to the forum. And yes you will find many folks here who are very knowledgable and nice.Post some pics and tell us more

That's a nice first Car - Mine was a Mercury Bobcat.... Oh Well! it got me around... I did have an under the dash Craig Cassette player... (most of my friends were putting in 8-track players). I was ahead of my time LOL....

Anyway, take good car of the car don't beat it to death... They are fun to play with but they will fustrate you if you go out to try an break them!..

Welcome to the site and enjoy the great Mark VIII.

Sounds like a helluvadeal...

First things first, do ALL the maitenence. Nothing this cars like better...

1. Change the trans fluid, update accumulators
2. Check all your suspension parts
3. Your plugs and wires could probably be replaced if the never have before
4. Plus everything else I'm forgetting LOL

It's an awesome car though, and you should definitley have fun with it.

Congrats...

Glad to know I am not the only one that has sense to buy powerful cars instead of all the hondas people drive in my school. My first Car was my 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII too and I love it.

I agree! Be carful who you take your car to. Post any issues here frist. I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice and support to help. Many members will talk you through any repairs on the phone while you do the project. You'll save a ton and get the job done right.

Your 1 2 Accumulator will need to be replace. It's an easy project and full details are listed on the site. This is a common issue that everyone takes care of as soon as they get their Mark VIII.

HEY Thanks Guys. I'm geting some pics to post vary soon. Thanks everyone for the welcome. i just got the car to shift in all gears and other than the transmition the car is in super condition. Thanks Guys

Even if you put in a rebuilt tranny, you are making a killing on the price you paid.

Even though swapping a tranny would be a big project, it's not a difficult one.
