Congrats on the purchase.

I bought my 1st one back in High School, and have had one ever since. You came to the right place for info, advice, and to talk about the car.

Again, Congrats.

Welcome to the addiction

Hi, My name is Buford and I am a Mark-o-holic.
Spent 7 hours out in the hot sun this weekend doing the spit shine and polish routine. Hell, I don't spend that much time on the Harley.

Anyway, welcome to the board. If you can't find it here, it probably doesn't exist.

Hello, my name is Black ice, and I too, am a Mark-a-holic.
Within a year of buying my first mark VIII, my buddy and I managed to purchase 6 others, plus 2 more for my home.

Black/Black Gen 1....awesome choice....48k miles...even better. Just get busy with the necessary upgrades to keep your new pride and joy running as well as it does now.

You'll see... within a year, YOU'LL be answering questions~~~~

:W to the LvC!

I too am a Mark-a-holic. I have owned one (up to a total of 3 at one time) since 1996 and prolly will own one in one way or another for quite a long time.

Congrats on the purchase......any questions ask away....there is a plethora of info here already.

I have a red 1997 Lincoln Mark 8 LSC. I purchased it 2 years ago with only 40,000. miles and I love it, but I'm having some problems, water is getting to my spark plugs, cylinders, coils etc. I've already replaced the spark plugs and 2 cylinders/gaskets just a few months ago. The spark plugs were completely rusted and totally crumbled when removed. I'm picking it up today from the shop. They replaced the spark plugs again and coils, and not sure what else. What is causing this? My husband thinks it may be the automatic car wash. How could that be? Anyway he's ready to get rid of it. But I love it. Also the headlights had to be replaced, I had no idea they were $500.00 each. Anything else I should watch for? Please help.

pics are here!! 1 week with the car and I love it more than before.....

the guy was the origional owner and was 83 years old.....he says its 100% origional......I've never seen those rims on a mark though....maybe b/c of the roof/gold package?

Well, since the carriage (cloth) top is not a factory option. I would not be too surprised that the dealership that performed the 'gold' package just added the Conti wheels to it. But they are not factory Mark VIII wheels. :Beer

At least with the convertible top, you won't hafta worry about Lincoln lasagna! Might be the only known sure-fire cure...

Is it coolant or actual water?
