This my first time posting pictures of the LS here on LVC. Let me know what you think!

Well, It was finally HOT here in CT, actually a little too hot. But being the first real nice weather we've had thus far this season, I decided to get Project Low-n-Slow her first sponge bath, along with a nice claybar and wax afterwards.

It was a quick 4 hour detail, but it was way too hot to do what I wanted to do. After the clay, I wanted to do all 3 steps in the Meguiars wax, but I finished the first one and damn near passed out from the heat. lol. The car was just too hot for the wax anyways.

I'm convinced that this car has NEVER seen wax since she left the factory. The paint was in HORRIBLE condition when I bought her, which is my problem since I bought her covered in snow. There's TONS of buffer marks from the "detailer" at the Ford dealership, so I don't really want to take them up on their "free detail" they gave me. I figure a few more hand waxes and that will go away. If it stays nice this week I'll just throw the next two stages of wax on.

Anyways, here she is. Nothing has changed since I got her except the tint. I'm on the hunt for some nice (and not crazy expensive) black/chrome 20's to put on her, then I'll throw on the Eibachs to match the wheels, and live up to the project name.

It's raining SO hard right now... lol

I've tried the meg's 3 step in teh red bottles. I didn't think it made enough of a difference to justify the work that went into it. I'm going to get something alng the lines of Pinnacle or Menzerna for next time. Just a tip before you get all the way through and are unimpressed with the final product.

When you prep it the final results will always be worth it. Try Zaino.

Thanks for the forewarning on the Meg's. I really thought the cleaner wax would do more than it did. Doesn't really even feel like it's been waxed. It held up well in the rain though.

I may switch to something like Zymol or Zaino once I run out of this stuff. Shouldn't be long with my familys stable of cars.

With those wheels you should take them off and clean them because behind the spokes is noticably dirty, and apply a sealant or wax. Other than that, nice car looks clean.

I actually found out today that the wheels are STAINED that color. lol.

I'm pretty sure the previous owners didn't wash the car much, at least not by hand, which would explain the plethera of auto-rag-wash marks on the car.

The wheels will be replaced soon enough anyways, I'm not gonna bother a full detail on them just yet. Maybe when they're off and sitting in the garage.

You could try brake cleaner on the rims and see if it touches the stained wheels. If it doesn't I used S100 to clean mine since they were stained and it worked great.

Use a polishing soap or a chrome friendly polish. Stained is just a state of mind.

Looks like you did a good job being that black is a real tough color to take care of. Yae just install a couple mods, nothing big to set it off and you are set.

Cleaning the wheels...I've used engine degreaser and steelwool and a stiff tire brush on the back of mine, after they are clean hit em with a good quality wax to put some pretection on again.
Car looks great!

I love when old dead posts get resurected :D

I was wondering wtf he was talking about with it being hot in CT...

Looking good my man. May I suggest Meguires? It's always been my favorite choice of weapon. Also some ICE?
