Went to the track for the very first time. Great time, lots of sweet cars, good races. My car number was 620. The first race (yellow) was against an orange GTO judge, the second run (white) was against an 07 mustang. The mustang was new off the lot, still had the dealer plate on it. Talked to the guy after wards, he said he picked it up today. Sounds like my kind of guy, at the track the day of purchase!

there we go....

anyways, im not claiming my car is fast in any sense. This was purely for fun and to get a baseline for comparison if I decide to do any mods. Accomplished both my goals though, under 16 sec, and over 90 mph.

i know the feeling, man do i know the feeling.

Just by looking at the mph shes got a 15.5 or better in her for sure. 2.7 and 2.5 60's are rough. should be around a 2.2, im guessing you spun ALOT.

2000-2002 V8 Ls i take it?

other then that, yea man, least you got to the track! thats what i tell everyone, atleast your there racing, and not sitting on your ass talking about racing. i love our dragstrip here, i started going this year back in may, and i think from mid may to today ive been to the track 7 or 8 times.

you'll get better at it! I got my tips from O2LS, he will prolly tell you the same. launch around 1100, and lower ur tire pressure to around 25, it helps tremendously!

I know i know, my launches suck, but like i said, it was my first time. I'll try the 1100 rpm tip next time, i was power braking and lunching around 2500. Reaction times suck, i need to work on that. But i had fun!, and that's the important part. 2000 v8. Im not looking to go crazy, maybe an intake, and ive been keeping my eye out for a 3.58 rear end.

Yikes, isn't there a break in period for new cars? Anyway, not to shabby for the first time at the track. Hope you had fun.

yea 2500? i cant even get my car up that high! but i know for a fact youll spin like CRAZY. even when i launch at 1100 if im not careful and the tires are at 35psi, ill roast em and have to let out of it.

i have a 2000 V8 too only i have the 3.58 rear end, from what i heard the 3.31 rear end isnt worse at all, and id bet you your car doesnt shift into 4th, which is good. mine will hit the limitor a few yards befor the traps if i keep it in 3rd, I just use D5 now though.

screw a breakin period on new cars.... thats why there is a warranty.... beat on it form day one and before warranty is up you will have a new motor!

huh, ive always heard the 3.58 get you out of the hole alot quicker. Also, as this was just for fun, i had some extra weight in the trunk (spare tire, sub & amp, tool set). Next time, i'll be sure to take out the sub and socket set.

take the spare out too.

hell i roll around with no back seats! im working on a delete actually.

intake and exhaust, with GREAT driving and perfect 60's can get you down to a 14.5, its been done with the lower rear gears.

02LS has ran it, he is my hero haha.

Hahaha. breaking 15 is my goal. She's my daily driver though, and is pushing 115,000 miles so i dont expect miracles. For what its worth, breaking 15 sec. in the 1/4 then averaging 27 mpg on the way home from the track is pretty respectable.

i have exhaust only and ran a 15.078 @93.75mph friday night. 2.303 60'

not the best run she has in her, she will go 14's with a 2.2 or better 60'.

i have 130$ in mufflers, 80$ in SS tips, 50$ in SS x pipe, and 375$ in custom bent 2.5" tubing from the cats back.

it wouldve been 250$ in install but i didnt have the mufflers at the time and they rapped me on a 125$ install charge for mufflers only! so about a 550$ job.
