I know, I know, floor mats have been done to death. But I'm interested in the opinions of people who have had the OEM floor mats or the Lloyd "Classic Loop," or both.
I'm rounding out my first week of LS ownership, and my "new" car came without floor mats. It's got the "42" interior code, which means "light graphite" leather and "medium/dark graphite" carpet. Before I take the protective plastic coating off the clean carpet, I want to get some nice-looking carpet mats that match the color and don't look out of place.
I believe I have located a brand-new, in-the-Ford-box set of four OEM floor mats in the correct color. However, the price with shipping will be just about the same as the price for a set of four custom fit Lloyd Classic Loop mats with the Lincoln star logo embroidered on the front mats. I'm tying to decide which way to go.
If you've had a set of the Lloyds, can you comment on how they compare to the OEM mats (assuming the OEMs are brand new)? I know the higher-end Lloyd mats routinely get high marks for being upgrades over OEM, but I'm curious about the Classic Loop style, which seem to be the "entry level" line. I'm also interested to know if anyone has impressions on the color match of the Lloyd "Smoke" color as compared to the "Med/Dk Graphite" color code.
As a side note, I might be able to get more than one set of the OEM mats in this color. If so, is that something anyone else would be interested in? That might lower the cost a tad if shipping can be combined.
