MILES: 144k on clock, approx 10k on rebuilt engine.
I acquired this Black / Tan 1993 Cadillac El Dorado touring edition last year from a friend, and indended on fixing a few things and using it as my daily driver. I have 2 other projects going on, and am deciding to let it go. The car needs a couple standard repairs (exhaust, tires), but otherwise is very mechanically sound.
The Good:
-Northstar engine was rebuilt approx 5,000 miles ago due to head gasket failure. Although the car hasn't been used a lot, I've kept up on coolant changes, per Northstar specs.
-New Callipers all-around
-Interior is nearly immaculate. There's a little wear on the driver's seat, but no rips or tears.
-Comes with a beautiful BOSE factor sound system.
-Windshield was replaced less than 100 miles ago.
-Suspension works great.
-Very nice, chrome rims.
The Bad:
- Both mufflers will need to be replaced. They are the originals, and leak exhaust. May also need a Y pipe, but cats are good.
- Tires have great tread, but were sitting for a little while and have some dry-rott. They hold air for about a week, then slowly lose it. They will need to be replaced.
- Needs a new trunk latch (the current one works, but is loose)
- There is a 4 inch area where the paint has peeled. It is isolated to a small section on the driver's side rear quarter panel. You could probably get away with just painting that small 1ft by 1ft panel, or just leaving it as it is. I placed an arrow in one of the pictures showing where the paint peeled.
Other then the noisey mufflers, the car drives great and the engine is amazingly quiet and purrs like it was brand new. The transmission shifts great and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere with a new set of tires. It has the normal dings and scratches, but the body is in otherwise good shape with no rust.
