This differential only has a little over 150 miles on it. I bought this unit used from a fellow with a Mustang who had it in his car but ended up pulling it for an E-locker for manual lock control. This diff is in great shape. Auburn makes a very solid LSD that will take a beating and not wear out for a long time. The Part # is 542079 which is the High Performance model.

This Differential will fit the Ford 8.8" differential including cars such as:

1) Lincoln Mark VIII
2) Lincoln LS Gen1
3) Lincoln LS Gen2 (with MarkVIII carrier and axle swap)

These usually go for $400-$450 new. I am asking $200+ shipping OBO. Only reasonable offers will be considered. If you are interested please email me at Robert@KBXPerformance.com

Yeah, if I had known I would end up selling this stuff as soon as I did I would have mentioned something to you in one of our multiple phone conversations. Sorry man.

How hard are these to install?

If you know what you are doing it is a piece of cake. If you do not then it is best taking it to a buddy that does and have them take care of the install.

i am going to ask a dumb question. is that like posi-track?

Posi-track, Limited slip, Traction Lock, and so on... All mean the same general thing. The Auburn LSD is definitely one of the higher end LSD's though.

Ok so how much would a shop charge to do this?

Shop labor pricing will differ but most will do a gear swap for around $200 which is a little more complicated than this. Figure around $200 or a little less depending on who does the job.

You have to remove the axles and then drop the diff, rip it open, install, shim line up and blah blah blah... Its a paint in the neck on these cars vice a live axle. Well worth it though! I have an eaton (same thing different brand) and I swear by it! LS's should have gotten a tracloc (fords name for posi unit) to begin with. This isnt something most LS owners will need, but if you run nitrous, a turbo, drive in the snow......etc. You could benefit greatly from this. And for those of you who dont know, ILLS gets a A+++ seller rating!

But if you dont know how to do a rear end, DONT DO THIS ALONE! Rear ends grenade all the time as is.... you dont want to kinda think you might now how to figure it out with this one!

It is easier for me to do an LSD or gear swap in an IRS car versus solid axle. Just pull one axle(wheel hub/control arm), drop the diffy, pop it off the other axle. Don't even need to remove both sides for the IRS. ;)

Anyone looking for Eaton? I have the same thing made by eaton instead of auburn. Its more of a rugged built one, but same exact part. It is a little more expensive, and I have a complete bearing kit to go with it. I'm asking 300 obro

Have to sell what I can. not to get into it to much, Mom came to me crying last night. Since the split of her and my dad, I've been her only means of support. I need to sell my parts of value and possibly my cars to help her out.

let me get home and I'll dig up the reciept with the warranty information and part number etc

Very noble of you, sully. It's a shame your project might be cancelled (at least on hold for a while), but your priorities are in the right place. Best of luck.

honestly, I cant believe I'm thinking of parting out the LS or selling either of my lincolns. But I wont let a love afair with my car keep me from doing what has to be done
