I promise to nicer if you promise to be smarter.
I play with a lot of software. Rarely do I come across that makes me think "Neat!".

I found an apk in the Market called picme. It's the server version of shootme that I've been using for a long time. It's a lot easier than using ./adb for screenshots.

Shootme is a screen capture piece of software, if you didn't know.

Anyway, picme seems to be interactive through your browser. That means you can operate your Android device from your computer when you have picme running.

Full access just like you were using the device in your hands. The update rates are also very good. It even updates the the live wallpaper running in the background.

This app could come in handy if you're stuck in an office and you're the texting type. Plug the phone into a charger, fire up the software and load up the screen on your browser.

I haven't seen a large impact on WiFi throughput, either. I'm surfing the web, streaming audio to an AirPort Express router on the network and mirroring several folders between my laptop and the hard drive plugged into an AirPort Extreme that's on the network as well.

Either way, check it out. I think you'll like it.

Cool app, I think I will download it. My Droid X is rooted and overclocked but I never decided on a custom ROM after downloading ROM manager and am still running stock Froyo with the garbage removed. I wonder if this will work on my Nook color. It is rooted, overclocked and running a custom Honeycomb ROM. I am a relative novice at this since coming from Blackberry.

Nice find, Frogman. I will have to check that out on the wife's Galaxy S and the Nook.

Which ROM are you using for the NC, and how are you liking it?

I like it for the most part, but there are a few apps that still do not have compatibility. It is a work in progress, so there are still a few glitches. For example, I have flash support in my browsers, but Youtube will not play in the browser. I have to use the app for it.

I am a re re when it comes to computers and such
how can I get my phone rooted so I can try this

Depends on your phone.

Google " your phone model rooting"

This of course, if you're running an android phone. But it should be a higher "horsepower" phone. If it's a 29.99 with 2 year contract Android powered phone... don't do it. It will suck.

I got Verizon...am looking forward to the new Android coming out this spring...forgot the brand name though....

I bought another cheap 7 inch Android pad to throw work stuff on because I don't feel like cluttering up my phone. I rooted it, threw on a root manager program and got rid of all of the stock crap Chinese bloatware that was slowing it to a crawl, installed ADW launcher and an Office App and it is now running like a champ. These cheap Chinese pads have all of the stock phone junk still on it, so I removed anything phone related as well. For $99 it is working much better than I thought it would, and I am just side loading apps instead of installing the marketplace.

Why not install them straight from the Market?
No market installed on it, it came with Slideme which I deleted. For what I am using it for (work files) side loading is a better option than installing the marketplace. An easy way would have been to have downloaded an update.zip for 2.1 and just cutting and pasting the vendor.apk file to the tablet, but I don't really need it. This thing is really really basic.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you a ZIP with all the google apps. You can install it via recovery, or open the ZIP and install just the Market.

Thanks.

That is a cool app, i have never really messed with any of the screenshot apps too much. i have a CDMA Hero running an AOSP Froyo rom, and that old guy freaking hauls. such a awesome phone compared to the HTC sense version i came with.
I also have a Gingerbread Nandroid on my SDcard just to load up if i want to show off how my phone is more updated then my friends newer more poewrful phones.
