DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T!!!!!!!
I bought the Tras-Dapt relocator kit from Summit for $50. What a goddamn PAIN IN THE ASS!
First, the stupid adapter wouldn't go on. So I had to install the hoses after installing the adapter; no dice, can't fit any tools up there!
So then, I had wound up with a major cluster-fvck by installing the hoses along with it and routing the hoses in different location. NO dice there either!
Next, I tried a few combinations of adapter, hoses, blah, blah, blah. I cut the $hit out of my hands and twisted my arms trying to get that piece of TRASH on there. I cussed and cursed so loud in my garage, my next-door-neighbor asked me to keep cool; it's her daughter's 9th birthday party, and everyone's wondering if there's a Def Comedy Jam concert next door or something.
I finally managed to get the kit in; but the hoses won't reach anywhere, and there's no good or safe mounting location for the remote filter WTF!!! Not to mention that the hoses were pinching and creasing becasue the space is too damn tight. I ended-up CUTTING the hose out because NOW THE DAMN THING DOESN'T WANT TO COME OUT! AAARRGGHH!
In closing. Don't buy the damn kit. It's not that big a deal replacing the stock filter. If you really, really need to relocate the filter, then here's some advice.
One: Pay someone else to do it.
Two: Use AN fittings, 90 degree angle. The hoses will pinch otherwise!
Three: Kill me. Please.
Four: Get LONG hose. The supplied 30-inch wasn't even long enough to reach any safe location. I tried the typical T-Bird spots as posted in a search of TCCoA filter relocation threads, but the hoses wouldn't reach, or my big-ass tires would interfere with the remote filter.
I am SO stressed from this damn job. It was very difficult for me, as I don't have alot of space to work with, and many of my tools SUCK. I'm going to bed...
