Just purchased my 2000 with 87,000 miles black LS non-sport, I hate to say base model. Is that correct? Anyway the front passenger headlight was holding alot of water. So being the self doer I am. I took of the headlight poured out the water and dried it out. Put new silicone around the seam. Installed new light bulbs. Tested them out and much to my amazement I saw a little MUSHROOM CLOUD appear from the front bumper. Did I mention the car was without blemish. I have a nice round indention with crispy edges on my bumper in front of the low beam. To add insult to injury the headlight seems to hold more water, I must have sealed up the weep hole.
So now I have a messed up front bumper with a foggy headlight now. should I bake the headlight or order a set with the new black sealant?
And the bumper what to do I am pretty good with bondo and paint but dont know how to prepare the plastic bumper for paint.
Anyone have a clue I could use one.
Gosh Idiot!
