Hello all,

My mother recently damaged the front end of my 2004 Lincoln LS V8, it smashed the plastic on the front. About a week after getting the car, an old woman who I believe was nearly blind, rear ended me and dinged up the rear bumper. Where can I get these at, as well as possibly somewhere to get them repainted the color of my car? Its a pearl tricoat, and I'm having a really hard time finding a place to make this color.

Thanks everyone!
BTW, this forum has saved me a few times as I've been lurking since I got the vehicle in June(ETC Failsafe, squeaky serpentine belt, headlights/fogs), as this car was owned by an older woman before me, and it wasn't exactly taken well care of although it only has 59k miles as of today.

Can't speak about paint but as far as I know, you can only get bumpers off other LS'es. (As in not-new)

Junkyards, Craigslist, etc.

Nah they are around new, just not cheap. 6W4Z‑17D957‑A is the model on the front and rear is 6W4Z-17K835 with a different -end for sensors.

Google search for the correct ones that match for your options will lead you to some, but be aware, shipping will most likey hurt due to size.

Now on the cheap, you can go to rock auto and search on 2001 lincoln ls V8. It looks like they are trying to move out of that, but I was looking for my front that got damaged and found those at almost half off full pop. As far as I know, they will fit, but may look a little different.

New ones would need to be painted anyhow, and the paint is color matched by the shop that does it.

You'll need to know which style you need. There are the special 2nd GEN LSE front bumper covers which have the round fog light placement ( http://www.prestigebumpers.com/20lilsfrbuco4.html ) Hard to come by.

Then there is the regular LS bumper cover which is available in Sport or non-Sport.
These are differentiated by the Chrome trim. Mind the tow hook cover. (if you need one like that)

As Brian already pointed out, your cheapest bet would be to get what you need off a salvage yard LS or a part car.

However, you can still order brand new front and rear covers from the dealership as well.
Of course there are plenty of other sources for these cover, just google "Lincoln LS Bumper cover"

Good luck!

Ah, my mistake. Didn't know you could pick them up new still. Sounds like that tri-coat won't happen though. 1loudls, do you have any pictures? Im curious how different it looks.

Thanks for the quick replies, since the vehicle is only worth around 4-5k on a good day... should I try to get some quotes for a repaint of the whole vehicle? Can't really say I'm the biggest fan of the pearl coat anyway. Or, have any of you had any luck painting it yourselves? Sounds like I would get myself into a whole world of hurt trying to do it this way, though.

I would expect that a good paint job (whole car) would cost 4-5K itself.

There are some other options too. Depending on how its damaged, they can do things like 'welding'. I actually think I am going to try 'welding' mine first. Cant hurt. Of course that doesnt solve the painting, but could limit it to covering a small area and even if its a little wrong can still be acceptable.

Any decent body shop should be able to match the paint...

It will be slightly off even if they achieve a satisfactory blend into adjacent panels. You have to take into consideration the aging and fading of the original 10+ yr old paint from the factory.

That's just the way it is with Tri-Coat colors.
