What should I do with the long, thin plastic piece under the bumper that always scrapes the ground when I leave parking lots? Mine is falling apart and makes the car look trashy, has anyone else had this fugly problem?

It's there for a reason. It's an air dam to draw air up to the radiator while on the highway. Either fix it, buy a new one or make your own, but don't get rid of it.

Thank you!, that makes perfect sense and it may be the reason I've seen a slight increase in operating temp over the last year as the air dam has started to get undone. I appreciate the response.

I replaced the plastic connectors with metal bolts and washers haven't had a problem with it in years. Just an Idea.

Make one out of polished aluminum. I always wanted to see what it would look like if someone did that.

The front air damn looks pretty mean too, it's not just for aerodynamics. You can see it in my sig.. the car would look funny without it

they are pretty easy to make out of plastic you can get at the hardware store, if you want to replace it.

All I know is that I have been scraping the hell out of mine with my lowered spring conversion.

lol same here mines like crushed form when my front bags went out and i rode it like that for a month :p

I thought about removing mine, it not in to bad of shape but I'm curious about how it would look without it. I think a slight splitter might look cool, maybe, if not to big. Sometimes I think the car is best left alone, other times I want to mess with it.
