Hi all,

We just had our first good snow. My front window defroster doesn't have much air coming out. You can hear the fan blowing full tilt but not much output. Heat seems fine otherwise.

I did just have the cabin air filter replaced at dealer. Not sure if that could have contributed. I hadn't had any other issues on colder days.

Thoughts?

Do you get a lot more air if you hit recycle?
If you select the dash vents as the output, do you get strong air out then?
Do you get any codes when you do the DATC self test?

Haven't tried diags. Will look up instructions and test.

Didn't try recycle as it was already hard to see and I thought that would make it worse.

When I select the dash vents, there is not much air at all, although you can hear the fan blowing on high. It is almost like something is disconnected.

Thanks. Getting both 1242 and 1262. Fortunately, I have Ford ESP, so I am just going to take it in. Thanks for the link. I will post results after fix.

Thanks. Getting both 1242 and 1262. ....

Well, that would explain it.
I notice that lately my 06 sounds like it is struggling with some of the air door actuators. I guess I need to look into it before one fails. I just have to wait for my back to recover from working on my Ranger, and I have an oil leak to fix on my BMW first. It's always something...
