I am lookin to change the front bumper on my 2002 Lincoln LS V6.

I want to sawp it for the 2006 LSE front bumper.. i need to know the parts I need and the part numbers so I can order them...

I was told I need certain things and ofcourse there are the obvious parts.. but what are they>?

1)2006 LSE front bumper
2) 2006 LSE fog lamps
3) 2006 LSE headlamps
4)2006 LSE headlight support bar?

i really dont know what it is that i need exactly.. also, the 2006 does NOT look as wide as the 2002..does that mean i would have to extend the headlight support bar? can someone give me some insight on this before I spend my money on it.. thanks

I think there's a lot more to it than meets the eye. I'm pretty sure you have to swap out some of the support bars etc. Have you considered a 00-02 LSE conversion?

IIRC, the front bumpers have the same mounting points. However, I have not confirmed this but a member on here, ovsims, has done this swap out. You don't have to get the headlights and brace unless you just want to swap them out. The only issue if you don't swap out the headlights is that you'll have small gap below the old headlights.

Remember, the LS has not changed wheel base dimensions so the 03 and up LS is just as wide as the earlier models. I had the brace for the 03 and up LS at one time and it was the same length as the one on my 01. You're only issue if you swap headlights will be the wiring harness. The headlight wiring harness on the 03 and up LS is intergrated into the huge complex wiring harness for the car. It isn't like previous years where it is separate.

Good luck!

I have an HID conversion on my car, so it should not be much of a deal.

Lex, why would I have to swap the grill?

Frogg, I dont know what you mean by takin out the radiator cap..

KD00ls, my friend has it and it looks good.. but i like the 06 better, plus i love that chrome lil trim around it..

grayghost1.. is there any support bar I will need to swap out the lights, because i dont want a gap between the bumper and the lights..

i contacted fordparts.com about the mod.. still waiting for a response..

Parts Needed:
LSE Bumper p/n 4W4Z-17D957-AAB
Lower Chrome Insert p/n 4W4Z-17C829-AA
LSE Fog Lights p/n 4w4z-15200-aa
LSE Fog Light Brackets 4w4z-15266-aa and 4w4z-15266-ba (you need both)

You will have to find a connector for the H8 fog light bulbs or hard wire them. Your current fog light connector won't work

If you don't want the gap between the headlights and bumper you have to replace the reinforcement bar and your headlights to 03+ haedlights. If you replace the re-bar then you can use OEM HID or regular 03+ headlights

Reinforcement Bar p/n 3W4Z-8A284-AA (2000-2002 only)
03+ headlights HID or non-HID (eBay)

If you really want everything to line up perfectly you can get the inner fender covers but it not all that neccessary. bought them because messed mine up.
Inner Fender Covers(optional) (2000-2002 only)
p/n 3W4Z-16102-AA and 3W4Z-16103-AA

Octavius,

Actually, the H11 connectors are what is needed. IIRC, H8 and H11 have the same socket type. The only thing about the H8 is that it is a low wattage bulb.

You found the part numbers before I could post them. Thanks.

thats great!!! thanks for everything.. ima start shopping around prolly next month.. i dont like to shop without the cash at hand u know..

Ovism.. do u have pics of urs??

Sounds like we have another project to watch and entertain us on our hands. Good luck with the install, and definately post some pictures up, possibly make a tech article on how to do it. Good luck man.

looks pretty pricey, i'm at $682.87 on parts so far, not including shipping or the headlamps or the paint or body work. kinda iffy.. let me "marinate" on this a little and I will decide if i do this or the suicide doors.. seems like i would be over $1,000 for a new bumper..

I jut sold my 04 bumper on Ebay and have my 06 bumper coming in tomorrow from Bill at Team Ford. My swap is costing me a total of $175 which also includes the fog lamps and all. The bumper is getting painted this Friday so Ill have pics on Saturday of the swap.

Anyone besides me remember that old Johnny Cash song, "I Got It One Piece at a Time"? Where he worked in an auto plant and took car parts home in his lunch box over the course of years until he had a "... '49, '50, '51, '52, '53, '54 ... automobile." :)

i jus got offered the 02 LSE body kit painted black for 600.. should I jump on that or do this project?

And if LennDawg doesn't want it, I'll take it!!!!!!! :D

how much is the cost on it? i got the offer from someone on cardomain but he lives about 15 minutes from me.. i dont even know the guy.. i'm about to offer 500 today.. but he hasnt returned my e-mails..

If it's $600, painted, in good to great shape then it is worth it. I sell the LSE body kit unpainted for $799. Then figure $400-$500 to have it painted.

i jus got a confirmation from him stating its in a ware house but he didnt tell me if its used.. i asked him that and I asked for pics.. i'll keep u posted..
