Front License Mount

I just noticed this with the new color match grill post and didnt want to hijack his thread. My LS came with a front license plate mount which looks aweful. I removed it but it still leaves two holes which i have cleverly covered. But why do some cars have this and some dont ? Is it the state that it is sold in ?

All LS's came with the front license plate bracket. However, unless it was mandated by the state in which you live in the bracket was not installed. I'm fortunate that Tennessee doesn't require front license plates.

If you look at SilverLS's grill post it doesnt look like his bumper had a mount, unless its a tricky camera angle or the bugs are covering it or he did a waaaaaaay better job filling the holes than i did.

Can a body shop like do something about those holes or would someone just have to order a new bumper?

The mount is easy to remove. The dealer is supposed to have plugs that fill in the holes, dont know the part number though.

nope the bugs that are there do not cover the holes.... I did not do anything .... they are just not there......lol As far as a body shop a dab of body filler sand it smooth and paint to match and BINGO!!!!! there you go.... FLA02LS I guess yours is from outta state cuz here in FL they dont require that......Id say cover it up!!! I am Looking into a new front bumper so I guess I wont have to worry again (body kit bumper )

I had a bracket once, but it was only when I bought the car and the same day it went off my car. Few months ago I hit something (didn't even notice) on the freeway which broke my right fog light and the bumper grill, so I had my bumper repainted and I told the guy to fill the holes, looks very clean now.

man i wish we didnt have to have front plates. its such a bs law. have u noticed that ferraris and porshes and all luxury cars dont have to have them. thats BULL. i never really noticed it but on kens car i can c what a huge diff. it makes

i bought the bumper plugs from bumberplugs.com and i am VERY happy with them. they are a little expensive at $35, but the color match is excellent and they do a great job of covering my ugly holes.

On my Cobra and Aviator, I actually painted some plastic plugs with touch up paint and installed them. Not as nice as not having any holes at all, but a lot better than before.

FLA02LS I guess yours is from outta state cuz here in FL they dont require that......Id say cover it up!!! I am Looking into a new front bumper so I guess I wont have to worry again (body kit bumper )

My car was originally sold in New Jersey and i guess they have front mount plates up there.

I feel ya all - Im in a dumb state that has to have front...Ive got air hanging on holes right now no front mount...and I like it sooo much! may jus keep plates in dahs one i get hem!

Since Ive been readin this thread.....I can't help but dwell on hooking up with one good air brush artist for the front bumper!!!!!!! ...they'd never know .... they pull up from the backside (lololol). ummmmmmmmmmm
