front struts

Sorry ,i searched but didnt find the answer.

My dad wants to replace his front struts,his bags are fine,can it only be replaced as a unit (bag and strut)?

It seems a waste to replace a perfectly good bag just to get a new strut.

I was under the impression that the bag and strut are one in the same part? I have never seen just a front strut for sale for a mark.

now how do you all feel about arnott industries or strutsrus,

they say theirs are "NEW" for $169 and $175 respectively.

You can also get the 'NEW' 2nd Gen struts from Ford for a little more. Either which way you go, you can't go wrong.

I just ordered an Arnott strut last week. Should be here soon. I'll let you know what I think when I get it installed.

The popular thing to do for for first gen Marks has been to buy the second gen units because they are supposed to ride better.

Arnott is coming out with an adjustable strut for the Mark VIIIs later this year. I plan on trying out a set of these, thus my decision to replace only one side instead of both.
