I have been tossing up the idea of selling the car, as with anything in life if the price is right, its almost always for sale... I have 5 children so as you can tell, I am looking for a 4 door for either a trade or to sell outright. Name your BEST Price. I'm open to serious offers. I'm in no hurry to get rid of this ride as this is a wonderful car to drive on a daily basis.. so If the offers or trades are not what I'm looking for, Im not going to jump on them. Again, I'm not being forcred to sell so Serious inquires only please. I consider myself a fair person and to be honest about my car and its condition. if you have a question please ask.
Anyway.. its a 96 LSC, clear HID lamps, all working. it has new Bags, up front, replaced Compressor, newer bags in the rear. car can sit for long periods of time fully inflated with out dropping an inch. I recently had to replace the Air Ride compressor, and had to use the car as its a DD. pumped the bags up and turned off switch and used it this way for about 3 weeks, never dropped. New Power brake booster, newer upper and lower control arms, inner and outter tierod ends, been inpsected till feb 2011, replaced IMRC on drivers side last year, have spare for passenger side. have a track-lok not installed and 3:55 gears. current gearing is 3:27's. It has a diablo chip in it and is a notch above standard tune. the best highway milage was 28MPH cruising at 80MPH+. took the trip to NC about 85 miles north of SC and made the trip on a 1.25 tanks.. 570 Miles straight down. the single tank gave me 437miles. I'm sure with a little better pedal control the mileage would have been better. anyway, I also had to replace the IAC(new), oil changes done every 4 to 4.5K miles.. my daily commute is 84 miles 7 days a week 365 days a year. mostly Pennsylvania Turnpike trips. , it has 2.5 inch exhaust with flowmaster 40's and nice chrome tips.. Oil filter Gasket replaced last year, New Radiator, new Waterpump, have spare overflow bottle. New Drivers seat track (Thanks MeSpock) and repaired base for drivers seat cushion. fully functional. Replaced drivers mirror with new photochromatic glass. The rear Glass molding is in almost perfect condition and there are no leaks.. I've been told that most of our cars have had issues with the black trim around the rear glass and it usually buckles up... Mine is not.
I know there are a slew of things I've done to it but here is the list of things I still need to address:
1. Fix trans dipstick, came loose from trans, have to put it back into the hole.
2. replace the bushing on the lower control arms for the Struts.. wore out the original bushing I have both Moog replacements. just have to press them back in.
3. replace missing rear strut metal rings for the shock tower.. both rear struts NEW, vibration loosened the nut and assembly popped out. the upper mounts are new as well.
4. Will need new Tires in the upcoming year. lots of highway mileage on them and worn down from normal use..
5. Need to replace hose that connects both halves of the fuel tank over the rear pumpkin.. it has a crack in it and when you fill the tank completely you can smell the fuel. Gotta figure 5.00 part.. just havent had the time to get under there and replace yet.
6. refinish and glue on the rear Lincoln emblem for the trunk lock. I still have orignal but saw it was coming off and didnt want to loose it.
7. Compund and wax the car.. Basically I really wanted to detail the car and it will shine up nice.
Oh yea, 1 more thing.. I have a leak in the AC syste somewhere. I am in the process of getting replacement hoses now and a replacement AC compressor, I will have that installed in the next week or so.. if you fill the system with 134A it will blow out ICE cold and when I have to take a family trip I will put in one of the big cans, it will last a week or so before it becomes a little warmer.. if I let it go 2 or 3 weeks, it will still blow cold but its not the iceberg it normally is.. this just happen to crop up this year so its been a little bit of a drag.. I'm replacing the hoses as I'm not sure of the exact location of the leak so its better to replace them all.
