Have you done the troubleshooting to determine that it is the sensor and not the wiring?

I will once I can access it I am just trying to prepare in case the sensor is actually bad so I have the correct part number.

But I am wondering if there is a sensor even if aftermarket that could be used instead of buying the whole assembly

Probably. I'd bet that the same actual sensor is used on several cars. It's probably something that wouldn't cost hardly anything from a junkyard (they don't seem to fail much), but the trick would be finding one that is accessible without hours of work.

That is kinda what I was thinking about it being used on several different car models if that sensor is bad I would really hate to have to replace that tube assembly that looks like it would be even harder to do. Now finding a car that has the same sensor that is gonna be fun.

I think this might actually be the sensor this is the closest thing I can find to that exact part number so before I drop my tank I went ahead and ordered the sensor since it was only $35 I figured it was worth a shot beats paying the $190 for the whole assembly!
