Anybody tell me how hard it is to change the fuel door release button inside my car? Mine broke, and I'm sick of looking like I'm retarded popping the trunk at each gas fill. Anyone have a part they would sell me? Thanks.

It just pops out from the door panel. It has a plug on the bottom side that has to be disconnected and the next one has to be plugged in and then popped back into the hole. 2 min job at the most.

there's thin liltte wings on the cylinder/barrel; depress those to get the old one out- or they're already broken

it's kinda difficult to pull it out from the outside if you don't pull the door panel off, those "wings" need to be bent inward to make it slide through the hole, unless you just destroy it and rip it through.

My black one came out without hurting it any and then I popped in a chrome one. Not saying they can't be damaged because I'm sure they can but I have popped out a few with a flat head screwdriver and never hurt none of them. Could have just been lucky too

i've pulled dozens with the door panel still on. u just gotta pry up on it with a flathead until u can get ahold it and give it a nice tug. although it is easier to pop out with door panel off but who would wanna deal with the PITA door panels if not needed?

I guess my point was that if one is going to be broken by removing, it shouldn't effect his any because it's already broke. Installing one surely isn't going to break it. They just push right in after being plugged up.
