Just replaced 1 coil, 8 spark plugs, motor oil change (synthetic), and new air filter today and my fuel economy noticable dropped (1-2 mpgs). Just got the tranmission flushed a month ago. Have any of you experienced this?

Did they disconnect your battery? Thinking the comp has to re-learn your driving habbits.

You are just puttin your foot into it more. Also can you remember the last tank you filled? Ethanol? 91+?

Alot of factors. Reset the thing and start your normal driving and see what happens.

Movie stars by any other name

That's HOBBITS. Little guys with hairy toes! See'em in the movies! :D

With less levity, Alax very likely has put his finger on the cause of your problem.

Didn't have a CEL before the COP change and always use 91+. However, I didn't disconnect the battery. Hobbits were the reason I tuned up my LS....they kicked out the engine Gremlins.

I'll guess I will try that and see if it's a driving hobbits issue...thanks

you know come to think of it i changed out all of my coils and spark plugs. i didn't disconnect my battery either and i noticed in the last three weeks my mileage dropped from 20 to 17.6 right now. traffic is bad in Va beach but i only drive to work and home. and the weekends my car pretty much stays parked.

Changing just one coil seems to never fix these engines. For whatever reason, the call-out of the bad coil seems to be for the correct coil. Folks who change all 8 coils (or 6) usually report no further problems (exception above, noted).
