Hey guys I started replacing my fuel filter a while ago and got stuck. I got the line disconnected from the bottom and got the bracket off, but I can't get the top line to disconnect from the filter. I keep tugging but don't want to break anything. Am I missing something? I need the car in the morning and am starting to get aggravated.

Are you talking about the little top and bottom clips?

If so, your new filter should have come with a new set of those clips.

If it did, just yank them out, and don't worry about breaking them. If you DO brake one or both, any auto parts store should have them in stock.

If you already have both clips out, just tug on it, but make sure you don't put too much tension on the fuel line. The fliter should pop off.

Yeah I got the clips off, I just can't get the filter itself to disconnect from the upper fuel line. I was pulling pretty hard, but was also trying to be careful. I guess I'll have another go at her, after a few more beers.

There's a pressure fitting in there. Some people have had success using a pen to apply pressure but just I went to Autozone and bought the cheap tool to do it.

Yeah, turns out inside the upper fuel line there are little metal tabs. I sat there and messed with it until I got it out. All is well now. Thanks for the help.
