I have 1/4 left in the tank and today on my way home the gauge was going up and down. Also when I always have 1/4 left in the tank the gauge drops to empty says fuel low. I'm in NYC and the temperature had dropped to 30 degrees. Has anybody experienced this. Also my mpg is horrible I'm getting bout 11.5 mpg.

Sound like one or both of your fuel level senders is/are dirty or failing. GM promotes some sort of gasoline additive that is supposed to clean the senders and might help.

I'd venture to say you fuel economy is driving style and conditions. NYC has a lot of stop and go, fast acceleration, and idling. Warming up the car "wastes" gas. I get <15 in the suburbs, >20 on the highway. I don't drive efficiently

Run a fuel treatment in there on a full tank of gas. You're not alone with the crazy things happening, my oil light is staying on till I reach about 1.5k rpm.

Sounds like you're low on oil...

are you talking about techron? ive heard that there is a gm tsb that says to run techron to clean up sulfur build up and get the float functioning again, but ive also heard others saying that techron didnt work. when it happened to my gm the dealer said to replace the float. that was before i heard of the tsb or thought to try techron. also no clue if its just techron that supposedly has the magic power or if any general fuel system cleaner will do the trick. no problems with it in my ls <yet>

My fuel gauge has been malfunctioning as well. It won't go all the way to FULL. It stops about 1/8-1/4 from the top. I'd love to be able to run some techron through it and get that float to work again. Sure don't want to have to dig into the tank.
