Paid $2.64/gallon for 93 octane at a local Shell Station. They raped me out of $43 this week.

Tampa Fl, were running $2.65-$2.80 for premium.... It goes up by the hour. As soon as the newscasters say the price of Oil per barrel has gone up. You bet in an hour or so, so do the local stations. They want it at $3.00 per gallon and there not going to stop until they get it.

And you still drive large Lincolns !!! You must be one of our richer membmers lol....

I wish the US would work on a mass transit like Europe... trains to take you where you want to go.. I'd have one of those train passes and I'd be at every meet...

Now that might scare you guys too much... LOL....

All I know is we are paying way too much!!

Shell V-Power : $3.19 a gal.

I never realize the price until I start filling up, then the words come out.

It's fun.

Between 2.55 and 2.68 depending on what state I get gas in (MO or KS, I live really close to the state line)

Have you noticed lately that the prices are closer together than they normally are?

Where in OP do you live?

I have noticed that. I wonder is KS is going lower so they don't lose business. I always go to MO. Unless I'm on fumes.

I live at 79th and Antioch.

Releasing the strategic reserves would only drain the reserves and have little effect on the price of a barrel of crude. Maybe if we simplified the 24 different blends of fuel used around the country we would get a little (very little) relief because surpluses from refineries could be shared. But no matter what we do, $60-$70 per 42 gal barrel is never going to allow lower gas prices at the pump. As long as the rest of the world is booming (China, India etc.) there is going to be a bidding war for the available crude. The best we can do if try to minimize the impact of the world oil demand by doing all we can to obtain domestic oil supplies. Still, the market will price oil at the price people will pay and will continue to rise until the world stops demanding the product at that price. I just read today that another refinery is having production problems and may further impact the price at the pump. See http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000085&sid=ag2Nb8fa8EjI&refer=europe

All things said and done, we should all be prepared for the long haul. Having not built new refineries for more than 15 years does not help our situation at all. Remember, there are people out there who advocate high gas prices as a mechanism for forcing us into mass transportation and out of our individual vehicles. BTW in 1992 gas was over $4.00 per gallon in Germany. Don't know how much it is now.

Who knows, haven't bought gas in two weeks (man I like mass transit). Will find out what its at this weekend.
