Gas Reserve?

does anyone know how many miles till the car actually shuts off after it says its empty on a 00LSV8

i would think probly about 20 to 30 miles but its not smart couse i think in most lincoln your fuel pump is in the tanks and if you run it bone dry you will burn it up after years so
then you getting into more money to replace it man

one night after a coulpe drinks (rarely drink and drive) i didnt feel like stopping and prolly drove 10-15 miles after i hit zero, scared the hell outta me.

i yously dont let it drop lower the a 1/4 tank but somtimes i will but not alot

but i do remember in my 91 continetal the old car i had i could go 40 miles from empty till i ran out

it doesn't go too far...at leastmy 03. i'd figure between 1/2 and 1 gallon. I was on "0" for what seemed like just a few miles and........

I think it has about a half a gallon when distance to empty reads zero. I've run it down to about 5 miles to empty a few times, and it takes about 17.5 gallons to fill it (18 gallon tank).

When I see about 10 miles to empty on the hud, I freak out. Even If I have extra gas left, I still find the next station.

my 04

not sure if we are talking about same thing, but i believe in the manual for my 04 V6, it said once the low fuel light comes on, I have 50 miles left. And to be honest, highway driving at 60MPH, I have pushed it 37 miles. Gas stations are far and few between in WV.
