Gas Shocks

I haven't. Looks like it's just a standard shock with new upper shock mounts. Any shock that fits a 97 t-bird will fit in the rear of all Mark viii's. I'd suggest buying your choice of shock (Usually $20-30/pc) and a set of upper mounts from member 98lincmk7lsc.

Rockauto has the Monroe 5965 for $18/pc +shipping. A pair came out to $48 shipped to me. Between Jays mounts and the shocks that should save you a good $50 vs Suncore.

I saw them during my hunt for new rear shocks since I apparently have worn out shock mounts, and the Suncores is the alternate brand I saw popping more than anything. The one thing that boggled me for a bit was gas shocks as opposed to air shocks. I suppose it's all the same.

In the end, as I'm figuring out myself, it seems more cost effective to do as Low suggests and buy the T-Bird shocks with the mounting hardware.

If you're looking for factory ride quality, I'd recommend the Monroe Sensatrac 5965, and for a more performance-oriented shock, I'd recommend the 03-04 Cobra Bilsteins. The Monroe's are also your most economical option and go for about $20 each on RockAuto.com.

My shock mounts as mentioned above by Lownslowlsc are $66 shipped, and are 100% stainless steel construction, including all fasteners and washers, and include Energy Suspension poly bushings.
