Anyone in the Tampa bay area have a gas tank for a 97 mark viii

If you can get someone here to verify that Gen 2 uses the same fuel tank as Gen1/Thunderbird/Cougar you can get brand new ones for $95 plus $6 shipping on Amazon.

Gen 1 Mark VIII tanks are plastic. Gen 2's are metal. I've got a good tank out of a 98, but I'm a long way from Florida.

Well that sucks. Seems silly to change the gas tank design in basically the same car.

I have both, but I'm not close as well. Changed for the better because the gen II tanks can have baffles welded in them.
