Cant say enough about theese, just put one on and what a diff.. most deff an improvement over napa's bullsh*t they sling... would highly recomend one if in need of a belt.

I've got Dayco PolyCogs on my cars, the one on my mustang has given me 10 years of service. they are similar to the GatorBacks which are excellent belts too.

Seems like the dayco polycog was the only thing available when I did my Mark belt. Just put one on my truck too. Who makes the gatorback

Goodyear makes the gatorback. I like the dayco, that's what I used on mine a few months back.

Have to agree Good Year tires are not as good as the big name they carry. I think their high end tires may be decent, but I won't buy them.

Had a couple sets in the family of the old Eagle ST ones, they just seemed to fall apart after a couple years even if there wasn't alot of miles on them. Auqa-treads did the exact same thing, and I had several people say the same thing. My wife had them on her car a few years ago. My brothers 97 E150 came new with Wranglers, 40k or so big chucks started coming out of the treads. He switched to Coopers and got 70k plus out of them and only changed them because of a big road trip. He bought the same Coopers again.

The Goodyear F1 - GS D3's on the other hand are a superior tire. Rain, dry, or anything (but snow), they grip like hell. A guy I know uses them on his Lotus and his C6 Z06. Put about 20k on the C6, 15k on the Lotus, and they're still going. Tests and customer reviews of the D3 place it as being the best in not one of the best tires available to performance machines.

Goodyear began Gatorback belts in 1995, however Dayco did introduce the first Polycog on the 1979 Ford Mustang. Only real difference between the 2 is the angle of the tread, but in my use from the freezing cold of New York, all the way to the blasting heat of Florida, the Goodyears stood up a bit better.

Since when do goodyear tires suck? I have some assurance triple treads on my car and they rock in the rain, snow and on dry pavement. I have a Gates belt on my car though...

I no likey BADyear tires... sorry. only defective tires I have ever owned.I don't like firestones either. but this thread is about belts anyways. so I will shut up now. :D

What's the part number for the Gatorback belts?

The gatorback tires on my wife's 00 stang never last long enough to tell if they are good or not, she burns all the rubber off at about 20K.

Haha. My dad had a little fun in my car a few months ago. The tires were practically brand new, but now they're kinda burnt up a lil bit. Its all cool though.
