I was thinking about going to the junkyard and getting a 28 spline Trac-lok, and then saving some money for an install kit and a 4:10 gear. Ill be getting the posi from the junkyard next week. What are some things i will need to check the rear end for? Like wear and stuff like that. My brother got a posi from the j-yard and it works flawlessly. And will a diff from a solid axle rear work on the IRS of the mark?

A locker from any 8.8 will work. Go on eBay and look for an 8.8 rebuild kit. They're usually $75 and comes with all the stuff like new bearings, friciton modifyer, etc. your mechanic will know what to do after that...

I'll tell you how my install of a 92 Mustang 5.0 trac-loc and gears go this Friday...

high mileage posi is not a good investment. The clutches will probably be damn near worn out...if in fact they aren't. They can be rebuilt however.
