Guy at work just got himself an 06 rx8 automatic. I've got a 2nd gen with a BOC tune and custom cat back exhaust, so we're gonna run em one of these days soon. Any predictions? I think I can take him, he's a young kid so I doubt he can drive worth a damn. Though his car does weigh almost a thousand pounds less than mine. :D

Should be an easy win, I barely got outran in my 4x4 inline 6 Cherokee from a stop lol.

I own a 2004 mazda rx8 yea you will probably beat him cuz the rx8 only has 165 lbs of torque so its slow off the line but at a roll im not sure. Like you said if he knows how to use triptronic in his car then it should be a site to see. The rx8 will rape u in a circuit race and has far superior handling, probably one of the best if not thee best in its class in my opinion.

don't screw up your launch and you can probably take him.
rotarys are awesome but the rx8s aren't exactly powerful. they are better at other things.

If you get a decent launch you should walk him. Those cars run mid 15's in auto trim.

caddys are :q:q:q:q btw.. rx8s are nice but you should definately beat him

An auto rx8 won't be a problem. If....and this is a big if...he does beat you have him meet me at pir next year and ill take care of it.

Yeah. But it was an STS-v. So it was a slushomatic. And the person driving probably didn't know what he was doing. Weren't those supposed to go 0-60 in the less-than-five second range?

They said 4.8 0-60. It was later noted that "testers" use a 12" "roll-out" i think it's called when measuring 0-60. Real world time was 5.1. They really wanted that under 5sec time for marketing.

The roll out is used on every 1/4 mile track. That's why you want to stage shallow to get the most of it.

I know nothing about 1/4 mile tricks and how to get the best times ect... I just read an article that said the driver bitched cause it wasn't under 5 seconds. Then they went into takin' about rollout blah blah blah...,..:)

A factory tuned sts-v is fast but not that fast.

Now throw a smaller pulley and a proper tune with the boost turned up and those things will peel tires in 4th gear.

It looked like he was scared to really gun it though.

Yeah, I'd definitely be putting a smaller pulley on that thing considering it still runs 13s with a supercharger.

Where's the CTS-V :shifty:

But, but but but it's suuuuuupercharged LOL
