Does a Cobra intake manifold fit with no issues underneath a stock Gen 2 hood?

well, not with "NO" issues
i had to cut that little flapper off at the back of the underside of the hood.. it would rub a bit on the intake.. just zipped that off, then there were no issues...

not to start a new thread in an old thread but why not lol... Where would i get a Cobra Intake for a Gen 1 and how much does it cost? How hard is the install?

Can someome detail to me what all is involved in swapping to a Cobra intake on a Gen 2? Thanks.

its pretty straight forward. install the intake, move the cruise control box so that you get enough slack to install it on the TB, ( i used the cobra TB, so YRMV if you use the Mark's) cut the stock throttle cable/cruise cable bracket so that it mounts on the cobra intake facing the right way
i used the cobra IMRC box, so i can remove the intake, fuel rails, injectors and IMRC's as a unit. i had to lengthen the IMRC controller cables so that they would reach under the intake.

you will need to modify the fuel lines so that they attatch to the cobra rail on the passenger side rather than the drivers side like the marks rails.

the wiring harness cover on the drivers side needs about 2" taken off of it on the front to clear the IAC tube

i am EGR delete, so i didnt mess with that, just blocked that off on the intake.

hope that helps..

Do you have any problems with MIL/CEL codes? I would like to do the same, however I live in a smog check area.

YRMV?

Aha . . . SO I can have the chip turn the EGR off. Cool, the testing out here for an OBDII is from under the steering wheel as opposed to Dyno running. (for the 1967-1995 years.)
