Now I am in trouble. I have the whole climate control box out from behind the dash and I can't for the life of my figure out how to seperate the upper and lower half as per the shop manual's instructions withought braking it.

The shop manual refers to seven screws and all of the fastener clips. When I look at the figure for the assembly it only shows all of the things that mount to the box when the two halves are together. There is no diagram showing where these seven screws are.

I can see all the way around the seam and I only see several clips. The other problem is the assembly seems to have been glued together at the factory.

Has anyone done this before?

No, sorry.

I am trying to replace the evaporator core. I am having trouble figuring out how to remove it and replace it without braking the climate control box.

That article doesn't have any relavent information for this problem.

I am trying to replace the evaporator core. I already have the WHOLE climate control box removed from the vehicle.

My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the evaporator out, to replace it, without brakeing the climate control box.

Well, if we cant help, worst case scenario..... I have a complete climate control box setup out of a working climate control mark... I'm not trying to sell it to you, but if you end up needing it, it's here for ya

The evaporator core is inside the enclosure with the heater core. Wait, is that what you're calling the climate control box? If so, I posted that link thinking you were talking about the HVAC head unit - which, to me, would pass as a "climate control box".

Anyway, from what I remember doing my heater core year ago, it was just some bolts and the heater core and evap core came out.

Well, Mine is a little different. No convinent Panel for removing the evaporator core. The shop manual says to plit the thinkg in half. I was thinking of taking a demel between the two raised ridges that run along the top of the heater box , or whatever it's called, where the evaporator is.

That's a shame Sky.
The jobs that I've seen done (like NYCLSC's) had a case that you could split open and remove/replace the coil and then close or re-weld shut.

Maybe you have to just split the welded (as in two pieces of plastic melted together) sections with a screwdriver or something.
