Global Cooling: An Inconvenient Fact
By J.Cook
For the last decade or so, we’ve had to listen the the apocalyptic ravings of leftwing eco-nuts warning that the planet is growing warmer. They warn we are standing on the ledge of an abyss which would swallow the light of the world. The mainstream media has followed this irrational fear- mongering like a band of scared puppies. The Obama Administration is so sure that we are facing complete annihilation by our own hand, that they are moving a cap-and-trade policy through Congress at the speed of light. Global warming is an emergency; don’t you know?
Once again, leave it to rural America to make an simple observation that not only debunks the global warming theory, but directly supports the idea that climate change is as natural as night and day. Daniel Greenstein over at StormX, points to scientific evidence that the eruption of Mt. Redoubt in Alaska will result in a cooler than normal growing season for those of us in the Midwest. Of course it will. Studies show that after the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines, the global temperature dropped 1.5 degrees. The ash cloud, which is comprised of the same nasty chemicals as the smog in L.A. or Beijing, blocked the sunlight. So, how are we to believe that smog over the world’s largest cities is somehow making the world warmer? The fact is, the planet is cooling.
So what? Well, because farmers in the Midwest are expecting cooler seasons for the next few years as a result of natural activity, the impact on the food supply could be disruptive. Add to the expected atmospheric temperature decline the severe drought in parts of the North and West, and the inundation of rain in parts of the Ohio Valley, and you’ll soon see that this is shaping up to be a challenging growing season. Look for prices for corn, beans, and wheat to climb. Expect a flood of cheap beef and other meat on the retail market.
The eco-chic have never let the facts stand in the way of their “green” agenda. The urban elitists in Washington D.C. are committed to their green masters, as all scared puppies should be. But the policies they are trying to put in place to control the food supply have nothing to do with global warming, because there is no such thing. The current Administration isn’t concerned with food safety; they are concerned with controlling rural America by controlling the means of food production, and like Mt. Redoubt, sooner or later the top’s going to blow.
