I am planning on buying a 2003 black lincoln ls for 18,900 with 59k miles. I think it is fully loaded but im not sure. It seems pretty clean except the front bumper looks like it was hit a little but they said they would fix that. I test drove it and i really like it except for the transmittion. it kinda lags a little. Im not sure but it kinda seemed like 3rd gear slipped. also what are the shift points in this car. When i was entering the freeway i hit full throttle and it shifted at around 5500 rpms but im not sure because i was having so much fun.:) What do you guys think?

Does look likw it's fully loaded, has the THX even. And those are the premium wheels. It actually looks just like mine did when I got it.

Seems like a good deal so long as there aren't issues with the tranny.

I bought the car, they gave it to me for 18,000. It seems to run really good. the tranny shifts smooth. ive heard that these trannys were laggy but the one in this car is always willing to downshift. Infact i thing it downshifts to much i bareley touch the throttle and it down shifts. maybe its because im used to driving an escalade. since the car has 59k miles would it be a good idea to change the tranny oil? what else should i check? Also what are the symptons of a bad tranny since i have not bought the extended warranty and only have 30 days of warranty. I will be getting the extended warranty in about 4 months should i have anything to worry about in this car? The only thing i noticed was that when i put it in reverse it shifted a little harsh today in the morning when the car was cold. but other than that it runs great. I really like this car. The more i drive it the more i like it. it is the first car i ever bought from "ford" since im a "gm" guy. If i unplug the battery i heard it will reset the tranny. should i do that?

yes htat is true the computer on thesee things are amazing. if u unplug the battery for 30 min. it will clear everything it has learned about the previous owner. the car keeps track of how u drive and shifts acording to that. id try that and if u still notice a harsh shift in reverse then have the pcm reprogrammed. i had mine done and all the problems (woth the tranny) went away

I thought that extended warranties are not available, once the original 50K factory warranty has expired.

i can get a warranty of another company but their like 2000 dollars

Be very careful with 3rd Party Warranties. There is a lot of forum info here regarding them and associated costs.
