Got Heat Good Because I Don't

"THANK JOEY"HI GUYS GREAT WEBSITE Ihave a problem with the heat in my 96 markviii,after warming up or driving for 30 minutes set at90 it still blows cool air.I took to a mechanic he flushed it,changedTstat,check vacume lines and ranthe computer on the blend door actuator it states is working just fine OH I almost forgot to mention the car ran idle for an hour in the shop and sure enough there was HEAT.while driving 15 min no heat & set at 90

Is it blowing hot/cold air out of the defroster only? Could be the ETAC unit is going bad.

He has a 96, not the same thing. Even though he changed the stat, sounds like a stuck open stat. I have had these symptoms before on a few cars.

I sometimes wonder about that. I changed out the EATC to the big buttons. My original had broken buttons. As long as I can remember, I never had heat. Some say the EATC units from other Fords will work. My unit came from a Taurus SHO. All of the buttons are labeled the same as the original. Can anyone elaborate on this?

i remember hearing that certian year grand marquis and conti's are interchangeable with our cars? but i never hear about the taurus sho working with our cars before, but since it works on your car that answers it!

Dominus and JrMark8, thank you for posting those links. They were extremely helpful in troubleshooting my no heat condition. Made it alot easier considering my car had no heat when it came off the truck from FL to RI and I'm new to these cars. (I've always been more of a Panther Platform guy myself.) But damn am I ever diggin this car.

I'm going to look for another EATC from a 97 Mark. This should work.
