Hey guys I got the engine out of my mark today and for all of you that have pulled them IT SUCKS BIG TIME Ive pulled alot of engines in my lifetime and few that were that bad anyway Ill be glad when its over

Thanx, and glad I could help.

That was a lot of fun getting the Grey Ghost back up and running, nice to have my daily for driving 100 miles round trip to work.

As you knoticed, I had some on lookers whom after seeing the same thread wanted to come by and watch and lend a helping hand in the very final stages.

Although it may have been a bolt or two, the conversation was the best to say the least.

Next time I do that I'll have it on a web cam, with a 5min delay.

You got Tripany's old car, eh? How are her and XLRVIII doing? Tell 'em "Boz" said hi. Welcome to the site and thanks for joining.

Hey Boz,

There doing great, if you noticed thay showed up but kinda after the fact, I did let Tiff fire the car off for the first time with the new drivetrain and take it for a spin around the block.

Tom and I go way back, he and Tiff both come and visit on a pretty regular basis around here.

They saw the link I showed you all, and Tiff was pushing Tom into the car to see it happen in person, but to no avail the only thing she got to do was fire it off and bolt up the one side of the catback, and Tom poked his head under the car while I shoved the gas tank in.

It was all in moral support, lmao.

*Falls out of the rafters with a Thud*

HEY BOZ!

We had a points race friday night, and had to stay LATE because Tiffany WON the jackpot race!

We left the track after midnight and rather than going to Bastrop with both cars we took tiffs car home and caught some much needed sleep after a 18+ hour friday.

Saturday we got up and headed to bastrop to lend a hand.. and moral support.

But by the time we got there.. Jeff had pulled two engines and transmissions AND installed one back in the Grey Ghost.

All that was left to do was put the Gas Tank back in and bolt up the rear half of the exhaust.

I did manage to screw in TWO gas tank bolts though!
HAHA

Jeff is a madman when it comes to working on cars.. he doesnt spend much time "Staring" at it..he jumps in with both feet!

I've heard horror stories on Mark 8 engine swaps, and after seeing it performed by 1 person will little or no assistance, I dont think it's really as hard as alot of people made it seem.

(waves to all the nice folks before crawling back under my rock)

That's great to hear you guys are still tearing it up! So what is she driving now? Another Mark VIII?

 does that explain it well enough?

LMAO... I didn't do BAD but I had a total brain fart TWICE and lost the 2nd round of both Street Stock AND Jackpot.

Since I was round robining the 2 races... I forgot going into the second round of SS that I needed to UP my dial in. I ran a 9.77 on a 9.70 *OUCH* and David Roadarmel beat me.

In Jockpot... Barnyard's truck was MISSING BAD, it sounded like it was going blow up. So, as he was driving up to the tree, he gave me "the wave" the one telling me he wasn't going to really race, he was only going to drive it to the other end. You know what "I" did?? I FREAKING MADE THE RED LIGHT COME ON!!!!! I was SOOOO PO'ed at myself it wasn't funny.

The good news is... Barnyard fixed his truck and got a bye run into the finals, not only that but, HE WON JACKPOT!!! :D that made me feel SO MUCH better.

And for the 3rd week in a row... Tommy WON street stock!!! :D

So, thanks to my bestest buddy Barnyard and my better half Tommy I had an awesome, jumpping up and down for joy night at the races. :)
