Got this e-mail from Holland, seem legit

Dear Lincoln Enthusiast,

Please let me introduce myself, my name is Marcus Veenhuis and I’m from Holland, I love beautifull cars ever since I can remember, I am 41 years old and happy married for many years, I'm the proud father of our 13 years old son Devon, who loves nice cars too.

Because I've got scolioses combined with arthritis I am handicapped, this is why I have been started to collect car emblems about 5 years ago, it's a nice hobby and I enjoy it very much and I think I've got enough emblems to fill up a small museum, and this is a kind of dream from me.

My brother in law made a web-side for me a few weeks ago, if you like you can take a look at it on:

www.MarcVeenhuis.com http://www.marcveenhuis.com if you click on "pictures" in the upper left corner, you can see more than 100 photo’s I made of my collection, my collection contains 4634 emblems from 296 different car makes at this moment.

But I haven't got a Lincoln emblem script and these cars are so beautifull, maybe you've got some spare or slightly damaged emblems left somewere, old or damaged badges will be good enough for my collection, winter season is coming and since I spend most of my day-time alone I like to refurbish and fix car emblems, due to bad muscle control sometimes I’m not actually a professional in it but I enjoy doing it very much, maybe it is even possible to publish my request in your club magazine, that would be nice.

Hope you can help me, I will be very honored if you can send me Lincoln emblems or script for my collection.

Thank you for reading my e-mail message, I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards, with respect,

Marcus Veenhuis

What difference does it make? He's not selling anything. He's just asking for you to donate. Does it matter if he comes off as a person in need with a BS story? Don't feel sorry for him. Ask him if he's willing to pay postage if you have something that you don't mind parting with.

Jibit,

What post were you replying to? Did someone post something nasty and then pull the post? Otherwise, I can't understand why you wrote what you wrote.

Barry

P.S. I wish that the web existed when I was wheelchair bound. The guy is just reaching out for help. I don't think his story is BS.

Sorry, I'm normally blunt and to the point and I've been sick for a few days and my attitude is increasing. You'll get used to it :N no offense to you :Beer

I got the same e mail.Weird thing is I got it in my personal e mail.

Oh well, If I had something, I'd help him out.But I dont.

I got about 3 from the Mark I could send off.... Now how do i go about sending them ?

I would think that a shipping tube would do the trick. Wrap the script in tissue and crumple up some newspaper for stuffing. Most script is just pot metal and is very fragile.

Jibit, I used to be very blunt myself. Then I realized that the written word, without facial expression, is open for interpretation.

A fellow member of another Lincoln web site has had a positive experience with this person from Holland.

Barry,

He posted before on the site probobly about 2 years ago and he's legit. I didn't know he was disabled, and after I read his post I sent him an old emblem from my 63 sedan. I had to wait until the car was done, and we exchanged a few emails in the mean time. I know what it's like to collect things (I used to have an imported beer bottle collection and yes, I drank them all!) and figured it would be nice. He was very greatful and emailed me a picture of his collection, and some stuff from Holland for my boys (chocholate & something else, I can't remember). I'd say that if anyone has an emblem that's not worth anything to them, send it over.

That's funny because I normally don't have a facial expression :N , or everyone always thinks I'm in a pissed off mood. Damn if I do and damn if I don't.

WOW! What a collection he's got. I have a drawer in my tool box that is full of emblems. I'm gonna put some together for him.
