An SCT. I was planning to buy the Chip from LMS but they said the code BXL3(something like that) couldn't be chipped, so then I bought the SCT from reinhart.
For me, I like the shifts:) , but I don't seem to notice that 10RWHP. I wish the shift would have chriped the tire but it didn't.:(
Has anyone that has the SCT made a better program so it will be faster or is the one already on it is the best.

you can dyno tune an SCT chip if you want - find a dealer in your area who offers that service :)

You should be able to chirp into 2nd gear with the SCT chip, Reinhart probably didn't increase the line pressure enough or didn't add enough timing... who knows but go get it dyno tuned by him and tell him exactly what you are looking for. My car chirps the tires going into 2nd gear as low as 4000 rpm (peak torque) all the way to 7000rpm and it's pretty much stock besides the SCT chip (which I didn't get from Reinhart btw).

Couldn't you give me your tune so I will have the Chirp or is it better going back to him. He said anything after 6,000 RPM is point less. If you could could you email me your tune at omer_1888@yahoo.com

i think those tunes are vin specific, but i could be wrong anyone else wanna chime in?

oh yea it has to be the right Computer code. If yours is BXL3, then it can be done,I think. But I will just ask reinhart to give me thst chirp I want.

My code is BTCO if I remember correctly. Reinhart doesn't know much if he thinks anything over 6000rpm is pointless, it's called putting your engine in it's peak powerband for the next shift. Yes most stock Mark VIII's make peak power at 6000RPM but If you shift at 6000rpm, the rpm's drop too much and you are out of your good power band, if you shift higher like 6500-7000rpm, the rpms don't drop nearly as much and you get better 1/4 mile times. Any good drag racer knows you shift a good amount higher than when you make peak horsepower!

Pretty much .. ideally you want to shift at the same amount over your peak as is the next shift is below your peak. Unless power steeply drops right off after your peak, then you want to shift at your peak..

You also don't want to spend so much time in your first two gears that you're shifting into third right at the end of the quarter, which you'd address your rear gear ratio for of course, or with your cams.

Oh sorry he meant anything over 6,000 RPM on a stock motor is not good for the car.

:I

Reinhart once tried to convince me that the driveshaft wouldn't ever see above 6.5K (I think) even with gearing..............anything to sell a product :shifty:

All stock LSC's shift into 3rd right before the traps because of the 3.27 gearing. I'm at the point where I can remain in 2nd gear shifting at 7000rpm until the end of the 1/4 mile but if I gain anymore power (which I will be), I will have to shift into 3rd regardless.

so it shouldn't be a problem with my mark since it is a base mark VIII.
Oh BTW I called reinhart, and he said that That is the hardest you can get it to be. He said you need your accumalor spring replaced, which I do need to.
oh yea, The car spins if I manually shift the car but not on drive.

Actually he is somewhat correct but with the wrong part. Our torque converters start ballooning at 6300 rpm. Thats why the Cobras have thier redline so much higher then the marks. They only came with 5 speeds.

OK, well I didn't know that you meant you wanted the tires to chirp in drive... it won't happen with your stock Mark VIII you need some more power and steep gears. As for the torque converter balooning, yes it does but not at 6300rpm, more like 6500-6700rpm.

98LSC32V, I know yours a LSC but with a chip and an exhuast you got your car to do 14.6. The other mods you listed, does those help, because I don't really know what those parts are.

Well I ran the car only 1 time at the track and it only had chip, mufflers, k&n conical and the Falken FK451 tires on the rear. The other stuff I have is mostly for looks. I have no doubts the car can run 14.5 as it sits right now. When I go to the track I make sure the car weighs as little as possible, take everything out the trunk, run on 1/4 tank of gas, adjust tire pressure (40 psi in front) and manually shift at as high of an RPM as you are willing to take it.

what kind of mufflers do you have on? and the K&N conical is the same as the LMS air intake, right?

The mufflers I have are the Dynomax Bullets, the least restrictive mufflers you can buy and probably the cheapest as well. Yes, the K&N conical I have is the same as in the LMS kit but I kept the stock mass air housing, I could never get the C&L mass air housing which comes in the LMS kit to run right on my 95 LSC and to tell you the truth the stock housing is not really restrictive at our horsepower levels.
