I have a 94 MK VIII I recently purchased that has several ding-dongs from a hail storm. There is about 8 or 9 pings along the front fender and top. Is there any way to pop these out? Same thing happened to me and a buddy of mine several years ago. We were hunting and got caught in a tornado that was passing by. The acompanying hail pinged both my and his truck. Although they are minor and you need to get close to see them, they still look like sh*t! Just wondering if a body shop could pop them out.

Dent Doctor. It's like $130 per body panel, and they get everything out without having to use any paint. Used them before, no complaints.

Agreed, don't waste 20bux on one of those "Pops a Dent" things, it didn't work very well for me. I had a small dent from what looked like a fist in the fender of my 03 Taurus SES. It pulled it about half way out but you could still see the imperfection in the fender and it wouldn't pull out anymore.

For something like that, paintless repair is the way to go. dentwizard is another place in that buisness. Don't expect perfection, I was still able to see where all of the repairs had been done, but not something that is easily seen.

I have thought about buying the tool kit that would allow me to do this type of work, but can't seem to let go of the money for it.

I recall seeing an article in CarCraft about a guy that uses some kinda long metal rod where he comes in from behind the dent and taps it out? The tools he used looked like long metal rods with a 90 degree turn at one end. He used them to get small dings out of a door panel. Something about metal having memory and will generally pop out!

That's exactly what Dent Doctor, Dent Wizard, and a host fo other paintless repair shops use. It works. In my particular applications, the dents were completely gone. They were light though. Heavier ones won't go away as easily, but at least the effect will be reduced.

My dad has a buddy who is in PDR and hes gonna let me job shadow him for a week to learn how to do it. He'll go in and work 1\2 hour at the body shop and make 3 times as much as the techs do.

A GOOD paintless dent removal guy can ussually completely remove them, and you can't tell where the dings were. I've had 2 MarkVIIIs done, not hail just dings that were there when I bought the car. My LSE just recently went in because of hail, I can't tell where the damage was. A poor PDR person will typically only get them out 90% perfect. The Dent Doctor around here said that last 10% is the difference between the Pros and the hacks. Certain dings cannot be fixed completely, but they should be able to identify them before they start and tell you. These guys I use are very honest and good.
