A 98-00 LS400? Ok so I may be crazy to some of you, but I might trade my Lincoln for a 2000 LS400. It would be a straight up trade, and I had one before my...accident, and they are outstanding...You gotta drive it believe it. It has so much power and it rides so smooth. It has one thing I like that the LS lacks...Throwing you back in the seat when you take off. Yes it is also a Luxury car, and personaly I like the looks of the LS MUCH better, but as far as the driving I do, I can't say I dont like the ride of the LS400 better. I've talked about it with some of my friends who drive nothing but LExus and they say go for it, and now I'm asking you guys. Don't put me down for this, because everyone has their opinions. I wont lie, the Lincoln LS is an awesome car, and def. fun to drive, but it's just not going to keep me going as long as a Lexus would. I've seen someone who had 500,000 miles on his 1997 Lexus and it's still running strong. My old one had 180,000, ( it was mad fathers before I got it) still ran like a champ. I wonder what the LS would run like if it had that many? But like I said I need help with a decision. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I personally am I huge fan of the LS. Greatest purchase I have ever made however I have never driven a LS400 so I dont have a clue about that.

Test drive the LS400 and then make your decision.

OH I have...Test drove it for 6 months, even had it at home for 6 months...you didn't read the whole story lol :p

The LS is nice, I really enjoy mine. But there are plenty more cars out there that are better than LS. I personally do not like Lexuses very much, but if you like the way it drives and it makes you feel better than the LS than go for it.

i say test drive it again and see how it feels now. because when i drive a car for so long i get the feeling of that car i'm used to. so test drive it again and see how it compares.

no I read the whole story I just thought if you couldnt make a decision yet you need to test drive again.

the push into the back of the seat is due to front end lift on the mushy suspension....ls400 is a GREAT car, but apples and oranges to ls.

I didn't buy my LS for speed. I bought it for looks. The fact that its got a pretty nice engine and is rather speedy for its class is just a plus.

I've made my decision, and I have to say...I'm keeping the LS. It hasnt given me trouble and I do like the looks alot better than the LExus. I get more compliments on mine. I plan on finding an LSE kit for it and (MIGHT) buy the smoked lenses from Ken. The LS is a great car, and it sounds better too. It's more of a younger class anyway...and I can't say I'm an old man just yet. lol

lexus (toyota) builds a pretty good car in my opinion.I think all cars have their flaws in some way or another. Some criticized the LS upon introduction as lacking in the luxury department in the interior design.Lincoln revised this car quite a bit in '03 to change that. The LS400 is more expensive than the LS,so I would say the comparison is unfair;you can compare it to a ES or GS model Lexus more likely.A good friend has a GS and it is a real nice car,but it's not my cup of tea.As far as magazine reviews,I think they are all biased toward foriegn cars and you will never get much real world info from them.As far as reliability goes it all depends on maintenance from the owner.

I see you are keeping your car now so it looks like you made the right choice.......

take care, Jim>>>>>>>>(mint05LS)

Exactly. I love my LS and i love making it faster but i'm not out there to race with the rice boys. I remember some Neon SRT-4 taking off next to me and i just laughed At the end of the day, he's still driving a Neon. :) I'll take my LS anyday.
