EGR valve tube on their LS V8? I think thats what they (dealership) called it. The tube from the EGR to the exhaust. If so is it a PITA? TIA.

More than likely a PITA, last one I did was my 5.0 Cougar, what a c(nt!

Why does it need doing?

I've never seen one that wasn't a real pain. I've even had to cut them off with a grinder right behind the fittings so I could get a socket on them. I've also had to do that and use heat to get them out of the exhaust manifold. But that, along with some good penetrating oil, has always worked. If the car is fairly new, it should be a lot easier.

By the way...do yourself and the next guy a HUGE favor!! Use anti-seize on the fittings when you put it back together!!!

I have had both the EGR valve off ( have to when you pull the intake off) and the tube runs from the EGR vavle (driver's side of the intake) to behind the engine onto the exhaust. You have to pull out the cabin air filter (and all the plastic ducting) to get to it.
