since i have gotten my car (2000 v8) it has had a problem with starting when i would turn the key it would not crank at all but when it did start up it started up as if nothing was wrong with it to begin with. even though sometimes it would take up to an hour to start. So finally I bring it too the stealership and they say its the starter, so i pay them 500 to put in a new starter and make me 2 extra keys, after that everything was fine up until after a week and then it started doing the same thing it used to do befoore the new starter. At first i thought it was the PATS but it shows no sign of a malfuntion in The PATS system (No blinking of the PATS light, or it staying on for longer the 3 seconds). So now im desperate to find out whats wrong with it cause im down to my last penny trying to fix this car :feedback :bestwishe

did u call the lm dealer and ask them, tell em to tow it back and fix it. thats rediculous, id bitch they should have fixed it in the first place

That CRAzy

My Car Was Doin The Samething To But It Was Just My Spark Plugs Going Bad ...you Dont Have Warranty ..its Covered

I had the same problem, the dealership relplaced the following:

Wireing Harness
Iginition
Keys

I kept taking it back and the last time they claimed to clean the starter relay.

It has started since and it has been three months. This is the longset I have gone without any problems in 2 years

BS

check your starter solenoid. make sure the starter solenoid nuts are torqed properly. B+ terminal nut should be around 12 NM. the S terminal nut should be about 5 NM. make sure they are well cleaned well. also give a look at the ground wire from the starter. make sure it is properly connected to the ground source.

Not the same thing. His won't crank.

It almost sounds like an intermittant connection problem. I'm sure you got a new solenoid when they replaced the starter, so that should be good. I would take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. If you brought it to them originally and said "it won't crank sometimes...fix it", they will need to stand behind their work. They didn't fix it. But if you told them "the starter is bad...replace it"...then they do NOT have to warranty their work unless the new starter is indeed bad. They did what you asked.
