I have a 92 Mark VII. had it for about 2 years. I had some problems with it but nothing I couldn't figure out. I was noticing my AMP light coming on and going off. As I was checking under the hood I saw a wirer from the starter relay was severed and melted to another piece of metal. I tried to splice and connect the two. It worked for awhile but it seems once the car heats up a bit the connection seems to loosen. Anyway this wire goes into a connector wire along with four others. It is connected to the starter relay. Does anyone know what kind of wire this is and where I might find one. Or if there maybe another way around it??

Yeah, there's a fact about the double-wire connector on the alternator getting a bit weak from the heat. In fact today, my AMP light went on. I knew what it was. With engine running, I popped the hood and pushed down on the connector. Imediately, I could hear the alternator kick in. sure enough, the light was out. I need to crimp the alt connectors to make a tighter contact. You might check the same. Otherwise...whatever connection you fixed, just make certain that both wires in the connector are crimped tight or solder them to make sure.

Clean up the connections, then replace the voltage regulator. You will want to get it replaced before you manage to cook your alternator.
