I have a 2000 LS V8 Sport with the base cassete/cd player and in glove compartment cd changer (no rear deck speakers), and have been living with the common problem of the head unit control lights being out. the screen lights displaying the time and track still work, so i can live at night if i memorize the positions of the other buttons, but i am going to be hooking up a LOC soon to hook up my amplifier and want to get everything perfect. i was thinking of just buying a new head unit of the same type, but was wondering if it is possible to fit the Alpine 6-disc in dash cd changer into my 2000 ls v8 sport with the base head unit and glove box 6 disc changer. Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. LS's rock.

Not sure if I understand the question, but if you're asking if the factory in-dash changer can replace your tape unit the answer is yes. I do not believe it will still except the changer in the glove box. These cars don't have much storage anyways. BTW, I strongly recomend an aftermarket deck if you intend to run any good quality speakers/amps.

Regards,

yea i might have gone overboard on the explanation but the bottom line is i want to switch in an alpine 6-disc in dash changer for my glove box 6-disc changer. (2000 LS8 Sport=no rear deck speakers)

Regards,

I find my 2004 LS to have more than an ample amount of storage. Decent size trunnk with passengers and without the rear seats fold flat.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant interior storage space. The armrest won't fint 2 bars or Snickers and the glove box with the changer can't fit a bag of Licourish.

...Going to the Dentist,
