Hi I'm new to the Lincoln Mark VIII. Just checking into things before I start any major upgrades, so first question, are there any headers that fit the Mark VIII and if so prices and where to get them. Also what is all this sensor lowering I have been reading about, what are advantages disadvantages to it and how much does it cost and where do I get the stuff to do it. Sorry I don't know that much. I am new to Lincolns. Thanks

First off....:W to the LvC.......

Most that were making them have since ceased due to the lack of ppl purchasing them. Dan Rolante @ Accelerated Race Technology was making long tube headers, but since sold out. His website says that he is sold out, but you may be able to get him to make a set if you give him a call.....but who knows. If you can find someone that has a set that decided not to put on their cars you may get lucky to get the long tube headers......like what lincolnboy above posted.

Now, Super Coupe Performance sells the Kooks 3/4 length headers, and is the only place that is selling headers for the Mark VIII anywhere....as of now.

Sensor lowering can be done for free by you if you have a few basic hand tools. Here is the link directly to the sensor lowering page. As far as advantages/disadvantages......

Advantages:(that I can think of)
Better gas mileage
Better handling
Car just looks better

Disadvantages:
A lil rougher at highway speeds because it still lowers at highway speeds.

Hope that helps.....I really can not think of any other disadvantage (I am sure someone else might have one or two). Just make sure that IF you sensor lower your car, you take it to get aligned right after you do it, or you will ruin your tires.

Here is a few pix of before and after sensor lowering......and the 'switch' lowering for that parking lot stance....a lil kit I sell......

Factory height: (before sensor lowering)

After sensor lowering:

Another sensor lowering pic: (different rims)

Yet another sensor lowering pic:

Switch kit lowering:

Now, I also have different size tires on the car as well......the first two pix have the factory 225/60/16's on it, but the rest of the pix the car had 225/50/16's on it.

I say bout mid yr dan should be getting started on those header, he working on other thing right now or get the cobra headers and if your good extend the what is it the 8 cylnder out to fit around the steering shaft

Save yourself time, and get the Kooks 3/4 headers......they go for either $565 uncoated, and $715 Jet-Hot coated. Nothing against anyone else, but the long tube joints are like $900+.

Thanks for the info on the headers and the lowering. Hey 1wykdmk8 How much is your switch lowering kit and how can I buy one from you. Again thanks for everything.

i got an alternative to the lowerin switch.... the kit is 30 bucks. om ray bout the kit. man ray you have to come up w/ a kit that also has a switch to raise the car.i personaly would not get any header maybe mid or shorties, consdering some of use aint making :q:q:q:q for power........the name of the game is called back pressure. sux cause i gutted my cats and when i get my dual i have to find a way to get some b.p. back... think bout a prochamber in fron and a xpipe after my muffler's.. :woowoo2:
