Headlight condensation

I took the car for the first time to a touchless car wash and the result was condensation in the passenger side headlight the next morning. It's never had condensation in it before. What can be done to get the condensation out?

What can be done to prevent it from happening again?

Strangely there wasn't any results in a search so I'm assuming this is an isolated non-common incident?

While i'm on the topic of headlights, although ford doesn't make them anymore can I buy true HID lights for this car anywhere anymore? Price not being of concern....

Occasional overnight condensation is normal and is usually light. It will evaporate with heat from sun/engine. Heavy condensation or standing water in housing is bad, you need to reseal the light and get the water out. The only direct replacement hid bulb source is gonna be in the lvc for sale forums or ebay.

just take the light off, pull the bulbs, and insert hair dryer, after the water is all dryed up u should be good for a while

Is there any tricks to pulling the light housing, or is it simple like the Mustang where you pull two clips up, unplug the harnesses, and pull housing out?

I have a tendency to break everything I touch for the first time so I always try to ask first before I assume.

Simple, yes and no. there's one screw on the small end and 3 10mm bolts that hold it in. If you don't have the hid connector by the high beam connector then you're going to have to cut the wire and solder it on upon installation.

Also while it's out, check the back of the housing for cracks. If there are any, use fiberglass resin and cloth to repair. run a small bead of silcone around where the lens and housing meet and smooth it with a wet finger to force it into any unsealed area.

I have heavy condescension (drivers) headlight and the hair dryer doesn't work what else will work

I had to fix stacks car with this problem....

I do this...

Remove the headlight
Remove all the bulbs
Fill the headlight with rubbing alchohol and swish it all around and dump it out... alchohol is hygroscopic and evaporates much faster...
If water/rubbing alchohol remains blow it out with an air compressor or hair dryer
At that point you have eliminated the water but no fixed the problem...
Then I take silicone sealer and seal the entire was around the lense and housing and also seal up the vents
The I liberally coat the bulb gaskets with dielectric grease so they seal better

Take them out and ship them to Jamie for a redo he will clean them and seal them up

Jamie still hasn't done a gen 2 set as far as I know...

Yeah if he had worked with gen 2 I would have taken them to him...if money permitted.
